Destiny 2 Emblems (Year 1): Instructions
You've made the wise decision to take part of the Destiny 2 Emblem Craft-a-long, you clever person, you! Just in case you're wondering what in the world you signed yourself up for, the goal is that by the end of this club which will end in September of 2018, we will have 48 different emblems patterns that you can create to make the world a more geeky place.
Each Monday, I'll be sending out a newsletter with the pattern and color key of an emblem from Destiny 2. For those of you who are planning to stitch along, please be aware that I'm going to be using DMC colors since that's what I stitch with. (I'll be talking more about colors later on.)
The supply list for this club is a little unusual due to the fact that this project is so customizable. I have heard from some of you who plan to stitch one large project with all 48 emblems while other plan on making each emblem in a little hoop or as individual project. Others are making perlers and some are crocheting the designs.
So, for those of you who want to make one large cross-stitching project, you will need a 20" x 24" piece of 14 count aida cloth. Each emblem will be a 2" square. So, with the border the final project will measure 14" x 18", assuming you're using 14 count cloth.
Concerning the colors, well, for those of you who don't have a ton of different shades of threads -- have fun going to the craft store! Seriously, with all the different styles of the emblems, there are A LOT of different colors. However, if you have a color that's close to the pattern already, please, feel free to use that color instead of what is on the color key.
Part of the fun of taking part of a craft-a-long club is to show off your progress, see how others in the group are doing, and basically be like, "Come on! You can stitch that bowl of ramen! You've got this!" If you want, feel free to use the hashtag #Destiny2CAL on whatever social media floats your boat and don't forget to check that hashtag out too.
